| Swollen lymph node while VL is UD Jun 5, 2011 Hi, I started TDF/FTC/EFV regimen approximately 9 months after infection, my VL went from 67k down to 104 in two months (CD4 not tested, but was in the mid 300s prior to treatment initiation). While I am certainly happy that the regimen seems to be effective for me, I'm a little disconcerted that my slightly swollen lymph node on the neck is still swollen. Is there a cause for concern? |

Response from Dr. Henry
Lymph node size after starting effective HIV treatment is highly variable (can swell due to immune reconsitution, may decrease in size after a while due to less inflammation, or can stay about same size) so in most cases would not be alarmed. I do recommend pointing out the nodes to your HIV provider so he/she can monitor for any unusual/worrisome features. KH | |||||||||
