which Diseases cause by Hiv?

I'm Hiv positive since 2008 and I have been using ARV Drugs since then. But my friend who is medical doctor advised me to stop taking Arv drugs.He has told me that there is no Hiv specific diseases no where and I should stop taking ARV DRUGS. I'm confused and I don't know whom to believe cos he gave me also his reasons to stop taking drugs. Please help

You are getting incorrect information from your doctor friend. I would discuss the situation with your HIV specialist and perhaps some local community activitist. For patients with HIV infection with damaged immune systems (ie CD4 < 350-400), treatment for HIV has clear health benefits and helps prevent transmission to others.
