| HIV Jan 9, 2011 I just found out my friend has HIV and she now has 3 kids. The second born n third born were born while she had HIV. Now the second born is breaking out with bumps all over her body...very bad rash and her lips are very dry/chapped...could her child have hiv as well? The mother isn't talking about her condition so we will never know whats wrong with the last two kids, if anything! So do you think this is a sign that maybe one of her kids was exposed to the hiv virus? |

Response from Dr. Henry
There are many causes of rash in children besides HIV so most likely some other condition but highly recommended that the children get tested--supporting persons with HIV is very helpful so maybe the mother will at some point allow you to help out.KH | |||||||||
