| Quercetin-Black Tea/Green Tea and Atripla Nov 24, 2010 Is there any interaction between Black or Green Tea and Atripla. Both teas have the antioxidant quercetin which is supposed to help the immune system, according to The University of Michigan. Please advise! |

Response from Dr. Henry
to my knowledge no data on drug interaction (or effectiveness) between black or green tea and efavirenz or Atripla. If any reader knows of a reference please post. I would not expect a clinically significant interaction but recommend informing your HIV provider for monitoring purposes. I am uncertain if there would be any additional clinical benefit from use of green/black tea for patients doing OK on Atripla. KH | |||||||||
