cd4 and hepx
Jun 6, 2010
my cd4 has stayed in the 190s i have hepc and cant start treatment what are my options
Response from Dr. Henry
In most situations HIV+ pxs with CD4 count at 190 would be offered HIV treatment even if they have hepatitis C. A regimen would be chosen that would be expected to be generally well tolerated by the liver. You should discuss your options with your HIV specialist. Treament for hepatitis C,if determined to be needed, can often be deferred until the HIV is under good control and meds are being well tolerated. KH
