| which meds have least chance for lypodistophy? May 26, 2010 I have been + for a year now, my t cells have never dropped below 420 and have stayed mostly 500-640 since I have been monitored. I am thinking of starting on meds as from what I have been reading here, it seems earlier is better. What drug or combo do you suggest that would have the mildest side affects? I also would like to know which does not have any chance for lypodistrophy. |

Response from Dr. Henry
The overall risk for severe fat changes over the first 2 years of treatment is low (< 10%) for many of the currently recommended first line treatment in US (Truvada or Epzicome + either efavirenz, boosted protease inhibitor, or raltegravir). Choosing between those options depends on other factors (liver, cardiac, and many other issues). KH | |||||||||
