| Taking meds all at once Feb 5, 2010 I know several people, HIV poz and neg, who pop all their meds all at once. I'm always afraid to take pills together. If there are no drug interactions, is it safe to take several meds at once? Many like me would have HIV meds, blood pressure med, pain med from back surgery, depression med, and anxiety med. I always try to give at least an hour in between. I've heard their are some possible issues with Norvir and depression and anxiety meds. I know when I was in the hospital, they would give me several pills at the same time...along with IV morphine. So, I guess it must be safe?? |

Response from Dr. Henry
You raise an excellent question. Whether you can take meds together depends on which meds they are (both your HIV meds and other meds) and their tolerability. In our clinic we routinely have an HIV knowledgeable pharmacist review all meds with a patient to plan out the best dosing strategy often in the face of taking LOTS of meds. KH | ||||||||||
