Combid 300mg
Jan 25, 2010

I have been given Combid 300mg, Lamivudine 150mg Zidovudine 300mg in thailand after going hospital because i stepped on a broken glass at beach party and was aleady blood present from a previous person doing the same. What are the side affects and are they perminate? Worried looking as seen hepatits B is a risk, I have had vactination for this before.

Response from Dr. Henry

Use of zidovudine + lamivudine for 2-4 weeks after possible exposure to HIV is tolerated OK by many patients but can cause a variety of symptoms such as nausea, stomach ache, headache, mild anemia, loose stools and many others in some patients that generally reverse quickly once treatment is over.
