Postive and Trying to get Pregnant, But about the Meds

Is Truvada safe for trying to get Pregnant?
Response from Dr. Henry
I have had numerous female HIV+ patients take a Truvada containing regimen throughout their pregnancy with good maternal and fetal outcomes. The pregnancy registry has provided generally reassuring data about the safety of Truvada in pregnancy. Theoretical concerns exist about bone and renal problems but no convincing data has yet presented that such concern would warrant avoiding use of Truvada. There is considerably more data about the use of Combivir during pregnacy based on studies and historical experience but problems were often seen with Combivir (anemia, GI complaints, slightly less efficacy).
