Atripla and the flu
Oct 30, 2009

I think I may be coming down with the flu. Had a flu shot. I did ask once before about taking aspirin. I was taking the low dose for heart reasons. Now I am thinking of taking either a higher dose or switching to something like Advil for the aches and pains. I keep hearing that NSAIDs are no good for me. Tylenol don't help. t count 450, vl undetectable.

Thanks !

Response from Dr. Henry

It is generally OK to use NSAIDs short term (such as ibuprofen) for adults with flu like symptoms. Persons with significant renal dysfunction or gastritis from NSAIDs however have to use added caution when using NSAIDs. KH
