taking atripla differently
Oct 8, 2009
i am 47y old and start to take atripla sept 18 09 i take it around 7 pm on an empty stomac and wait 1 hour before diner , 2 to 3 h later i feel some mild side efects dizziness warm sensation and i fall a sleep , do i get the full benefit of atripla by doing that ? or should i take it before bed after diner, thank you

The timing of the Atripla relates more to trying to overlap the frequent central nervous side effects with sleep time. HIgher levels (including if taken with fatty meals) more likely to cause more central nervous system side effects. The effectiveness of Atripla is likely good in most situations so that is not the factor usually driving the timing of dosing discussion. KH
