Response from Dr. Henry
Skin conditions are very common in the general population and even more common in HIV+ persons. There are a wide variety of skin disorders such as folliculitis, ezcema, seborrhea, fungal infections and many others. The treatment depends on the actual diagnosis so evaluation by an HIV specialist or a dermatologist is recommended. In some cases the skin problems can be helped by effective use of antiretroviral therapy so that is something to discuss with your HIV specialist. KH | ||||||||||
