|hiv & vision loss
Sep 11, 2009
I have had the virus since 1992 and within the last three months I am starting to have serious vision loss. I love to read, but lately I can not read due to the blurred vision. Three years ago my vision was tested and it was 20/20. In the last three months my vision has changed to I cannot read anything in regular print size. What can I do about my vision loss? I am taking the same hiv meds that I was taking three years ago. I am concerned that it may be serious.

You need a general health and eye focused evaluation to look for non-HIV conditions like diabetes, glaucoma, or cataracts as well as HIV status assessment (ie if CD4 count is low such as < 100 then could get eye infection that could threaten your vision). KH
