REYATAZ ALONE Jul 22, 2009 is a 400m daily dose of Rayataz an effective treatment or should it be taken with other meds like Norvir? I was thinking of droping the Norvir. |

 Monotherapy with unboosted atazanavir is not recommended. Unboosted atazanavir with Epzicom appears to work well for patients already suppressed with boosted atazanavir suppressed with no history of sigificant resistance. The jury is still out with boosted atazanavir monotherapy as maintenance treatment (similar for boosted lopinavir or darunavir monotherapy)and not currently recommended (more studies needed--available data has reported variable results but in general somewhat lower levels of suppression seen in monotherapy versus combination therapy).
