| What to expect with treatment Jul 22, 2009 I have been diagnosed with hiv in 2004 and have been doing well, i started with treatment in April 2009 am on truvada + efivarenz. I am responding extremely well 2this combination. It is rather disturbing 2read about what other people are going through. I am wondering if i will also go through tough times as time goes on or will i be just fine if i keep taking a good care of myself and adhere to taking my treatment correctly. |

Response from Dr. Henry
Reading this site does not give a full picture of how well most patients are doing (most are doing well on currently used regimens) so those patients don't write for advice. Patients who suppress viral levels with minimal side effects and have a decent and increasing CD4 count on a regimen such as Atripla can be expected to continue to do well for many years/decades (failure rate is low -[perhaps < 5%/year).
