Atripla weight loss Apr 29, 2009 I started atripla about 3 weeks ago and feel fatigue in the gym everytime i work out and i have lost over 15 pounds. Before i started atripla i felt fine and was very strong and full of lean muscle. Is this do to to atripla or is it something more serious i should discuss with my doctor? |

 I have not seen any patients taking Atripla develop rapid impressive weight loss as you describe within 3 weeks. Occasional patients will lose their appetite and have GI problems from either the efavirenz effect or sometimes from tenofovir. A full work-up for HIV and non-HIV related conditions is recommended. If you continue to experience that impressive level of fatigue and no other cause is found I would consider a switch to an alternative regimen (such as raltegravir or boosted darunavir) on a trial basis.
