| Serostim Dec 10, 2008 My insurance company denied my claim for Serostim. Are there any program where I can obtain the drug? Are there any HGH suppliments that help with Lipo? |

Human growth hormone is not FDA approved for the treatment of HIV-related lipodystrophy. In studies it has shown some modest benefit to decrease intraabdominal fat and perhaps buffalo hump but with some bone pain, increase risk for high blood sugar, and high cost. It does not help fat loss and the effects reverse when treatment (injections) are stopped. Human growth hormone releasing factor is another product that has shown some benefit perhaps with less side effects but still investigational. Switching off possibly offending meds, diet, exercise can be helpful depending on the situation. KH | ||||||||||
