Is this going to be a cure? Nov 2, 2008 Hi Dr. Henry--Recently i viewed a video from U.of Texas med school in Houston. This Dr.Saudir Paul and his team seemed to be hot on the trail of a cure for this damned disease. Would you go to 'You Tube' type in 'Possible HIV Cure'--If you have time give me your take on this discovery--seems like there is hope for a cure and its not that far away.  The treatment strategy discussed in that You Tube video looks promising but has not been tried in humans yet (safety and efficacy not established). It is also unclear from the data provided how the treatment would eliminate integrated virus (DNA form integrated in to human host) or effect quiescent virus in some reservoirs which would need to be eliminated to achieve a total cure.
