Dear Doc I have been positive for 3-4 years now and up until now my numbers have been good and i have not taken medication. My tell cells have dropped from 381 to 333 in the past 3 months and my viral load is 32,000, my doctor want to put me on meds soon. I am unable to take non-nucleoside so my doctor wants to put me on either Reyataz , norvir and Truvada or Lexiva , norvir and Truvada Please tell if these are good choices and with little side effects and what they side affects might be? Thank you Anxious and scared in Boston

Patients in our clinic have had good experience with either ritonavir/Reyataz or ritonavir/Lexiva + Truvada based regimens. The majority have minimal side effects (most gut related) and good CD4 and HIV RNA response . Those are both good choices for many patients. KH
