If a patient has lactic acidosis in the setting of use of D4T/ddI (ART) there is no treatment that I can recommend that is as important as stopping the offending meds. I have little confidence that any treatment (usually involves fluid and electrolyte support and reversing the acid excess) would be effective/safe if offending drugs were continued. KH | ||||||||||
