KP-1461 & hiv-2 Feb 13, 2008 Dear DR. K. Henry ! Dear Dr. we are hearing lot about the positive hope for eradiction ,THRU kp-1461, which is in thier phase-II trial. If all goes in the right direction and say it is feasible to eradicate/cure hiv-1. Concern about those who have hiv-2 or other type, will this kp-1461 also be equally efective for hiv-2, if not, do these resercher/scientists have any thinking about other type(s)? probably they can use the similar technique for hiv-2 and other type? Please pass your expertise comment- God bless all of you for good job. concern for hiv-2 /other type(s) |

 The studies of that compound are going slowly due to safety concerns from regulatory authorities. It is too early to voice any opinion on whether that compound (being studied for HIV-1 infection by Kornonis Pharamceuticals -to my knowledge-not HIV-2 in the US/Canada) will prove safe or effective.
