| hiv in angola Jan 25, 2008 a friend of mine is considering to move to Angola. He is today on a public (free) treatment with Kaletra (2 pills x 2 daily, and Truvada 1/DAY) Is there any chance he can get the same or similar support in Angola? Is there any risk of resistanse development if he has to change to a different brand? |

Response from Dr. Henry
That may be a challenge since in areas in Africa where ART is available it often involves generic nevirapine(sometimes efavirenz) and AZT/D4T/3TC. If there is no resistance often a triple therapy with a nevirapine or efavirenz based regimen will maintain viral suppression/control. The Clinton Foundation website has a link to a pdf file listing generic drug prices available in some areas. If any reader has any specific information about Angola please post. KH | |||||||||
