Response from Dr. Henry
The rate of serious lipodystrophy due to Atripla appears generally low (definitions may vary and there can be individual differences in susceptibilty). Over the first 1-3 years the rate of significant date distribution problems due to Atripla seems to be < 10% in my experience. Often weight gain due to regaining health and then sharing many of the same food intake/exercise related weight problems as the general population or similarly aged relatives is a much more common problem and is not related directly to the HIV drugs.
