 Studies have been published in the last several months further documenting the modest short term benefit of both growth hormone and growth hormone releasing factor for management of increased intra-abdominal fat in the setting of treated HIV infection. Both treatments need to be injected, are costly, and generally need to be continued for the benefit to be maintained. Long term outcome data is lacking. The side effect profile of growth hormone releasing factor seems more promising than for growth hormone. KH | ||||||||
