| Can Kidney Disease be reversed? Dec 14, 2007 I saw an article on reversing kidney disease and was wondering if there are HIV drugs that have been seen to do that. |

Response from Dr. Henry
Kidney disease due to HIV is generally termed HIV nephropathy. HIV nephropathy can be helped (stabilized and in some cases reversed) by effective treatment with antiretrovirals. Many other conditions can contribute to kidney disease most often hypertension and diabetes so evaluation and treatment for those conditions are also very important. KH | |||||||||
