Atripla effects with other drugs.
Oct 17, 2007
Hello Dr. Henry:
I currently take Atripla,Lexapro, Selenium(270mcg),B-100 usp vitamins, Theragram-M vitamins, Glucosamine (500mg), chondroitin(400mg) every day. And now since I have come from the dentist, who has prescribed me Hyrocodone 5mg w/500mg APAP, Ibuprophen 600 mg, and Periogard 1 16 oz. bottle. The question I have is can I take all these drugs through out a given day? Will any of these drugs have an adverse side-effect or interfer with the effectivness of Atripla?
Response from Dr. Henry
Most patients should be able to take the meds you describe with Atripla particularly if you are already doing well on Atripla for a number of months. Hydrocodone can aggravate central nervous sytem side effects of Atripla in some patients but most do OK with it. KH
