history of pancreatitis Jul 27, 2007 i noticed that there are all these warnings about pancreatitis on the nrti, if i have a history of pancreatitis what drugs would i use. thanks you |

 The concern about pancreatitis due to NRTIs use was greatest with ddI and D4T (or when used together). There is a much lower rate with drugs like 3TC and very low rates with drugs like tenofovir and abacavir. In areas where a range of HIV drugs are available (i.e US) then usually a regimen can be formulated that can be tolerated in patients with a history of pancreatitis. KH | ||||||||
