 Good question. The best studies to evaluate lipodysrophy issues is when used in treatment naive patients comparing one regimen to one of the standard of care regimens. Increasingly, the back bone nuke regiments are abacavir or tenfovir + either 3TC or FTC which have less fat problems than seen regimens using thymidine analogues (D4T or AZT). The general impression has been that the lipid and fat problems seen with ritonavir/daruanvir compare well with comparator regimens but data from prospective short and long term studies is still lacking/pending.
