| high triglicerides Apr 21, 2007 Being HIV + for over 16 yrs, never developed ARC. Currently on Norvir, Invirase, Viread, Epzicom and Acyclovir. Blood work showed triglycerides = 850. After modifying my eating habits 30 days later tryglicerides = 660. Where could I find nutritional guidelines to lower these numbers. I don't want to take Trichor, lipitor, etc unless it is absolutely necesary. Thms CH |

Response from Dr. Henry
I would suggest consulting a nutritionist/dietician to further evaluate your food intake. Exercise, fish oil and/or niacin can lower triglyceride levels in some patients. Fibrates can also have a significant impact on triglyceride levels. Norvir boosted Invirase can cause a significant increase in triglycerides in a subset of patient. KH | ||||||||||
