Too embarassed to ask my dr.
Feb 13, 2007

I have a drug interaction question that I'm just too embarassed to ask my doctor about. I have been considering taking penis enlargement "drugs" like Enzyte. I am currently on an HIV regimen including Norvir, Reyataz and Epzicom. I am concerned about possible drug interactions that might result from adding something like Enzite to my regimen. Any thoughts?

Response from Dr. Conway

Enzyte is basically a natural product and there do not appear to be any interactions with antiretroviral drugs that should be of concern. This is very different from the drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (VIagra, Levitra, Cialis, etc...) whose half life and potency are significantly increased by Norvir. It would be very important to be careful in combining such agents with Norvir, and I will usually recommend the lowest (25 mg) dose of Viagra if someone insists on using them together.
