| Aerobic exercise to reduce bloated abdomen. Feb 13, 2007 I would like to start some moderate cardio exercise to reduce a lipoatrophy pot belly. Gym exercises such as sit ups, crunches etc. have made no difference. I have been advised that jogging ,brisk walking, swimming and cycling should help. My concern is that I don't want to lose "weight" off my limbs etc. What would you advise? (22yrs poz <50 V/L 1050 tcells )Thanks John |

Response from Dr. Conway
I would advise a combination of aerobic and weight training, 30-45 minutes 3-4 times/week. This program will have the best effect on your metabolism to create the conditions to help reverse the body shape changes that have occurred. The weight training should include biceps/triceps routines to preserve your arms. As a bonus, you will also become toned and fit, and help reverse or avoid cholesterol or blood sugar abnormaalities. GO for it, John... | |||||||||
