Any possible cure on the horizon? Jan 22, 2007 I know that all the biggest companies are experimenting on vaccines and better medicines. Is there any study or research about a conclusive cure of the disease? Are there some possibilities or is that issue totally ignored? Thanks for the attention! |

 To my knowledge there is no treatment currently in clinical trials that realistically offers a reasonable chance for cure. There are some strategies being used to flush out or target quietly infected cells that hold some promise in the future. Antiretroviral therapy can be highly effective with the potential for normal life expectancy a realistic possibility in an increasing number of cases among patients fortunate to have access to effective therapy.
