 I have no experience with pine bark extract in patients taking HIV medications. I could find no reference on interactions between many key HIV drugs and pine bark extract. If is often hard to know what is actually in many alternative medications and the rate of side effects is often higher than generally appreciated. Caution is advised when taking pine bark abstract with a number of immunoregulatory drugs (such as steroids or Cell-cept) but that doesn't clearly extend to antiretroviral therapy. I would make sure your HIV specialist knows about the pine bark so he/she can observe for any unexpected problems once HIV treatment is started. KH | ||||||||
