Kindly advise on what we should use to detoxify our bodies coz of lots of meds toxins, which are actually causing death nowardays than the HIV itself.
| Response from Dr. Henry
Due to the effective of HIV treatment the disease and death rate from AIDS has been reduced dramatically in patients fortunate enough to have access to antiretroviral therapy. In my practice the rate of death to HIV/AIDS is very low nowadays. Patients are still having medical problems but increasingly they mimic those in the general population (heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hepatitis b?C related problems, etc) with the HIV medications contributing increasingly little to the disease burden as we continuously have access to easier and safer regimens. There is no proven effective means to detoxify the body from side effects of HIV medications. Eating well, vitamin supplementation, safe sex, exercise, no smoking, limiting sun exposure and other health/life style interventions recommended for the general population also important for HIV+ persons whether they are on treatment or not.
