Stroke on hiv patient
Oct 8, 2006
If a person infected with hiv has a stroke what are they chances of recovering fully. How can this be avoided?
Response from Dr. Henry
Recovery from stroke is highly variable in the general population dependent on how fast treatment is started, the type of stroke, the location of the blood flow occlusion or bleed, and the underlying health of the patient. The same variability applies to HIV+ persons who can recover fully in some cases but often are left with some level of neurologic deficit. KH
