| Kaletra and Diabetes Aug 16, 2006 Dear Dr. Years ago I took 400 mg twice a day of fortovase and Norvir. I develop severe diabetes that required insulin. After I stopped the norvir and added viracept my blood sugar returned to normal. I am considering a new switch to Kaletra since my vl has been creeping up on invirase with low dose norvir and viracept. Do you think I will have the same diabetes side effect with kaletra? The low dose norvir has not caused an increase in blood sugar at all. Many thanks. |

Response from Dr. Henry
The changes that Kaletra would trigger diabetes more than ritonavir boosted saquinavir are low to modest but unpredictable. KH | ||||||||||
