Please help me !!!

Response from Dr. Henry

Oxandrin is not recommended as a way to regain lost body fat in either men or women. NucleomaxX (uridine sachets) is under study for the treatment of thymidine drugs (AZT or D4T) related fat loss in HIV+ persons. Data is still limited and it is unclear whether uridine would benefit patients no longer taking AZT or D4T. The ACTG is studying NucleomaxX in persons with fat loss on AZT or D4T. Your HIV specialist is the best person to review your treatment history and decide whether there is a more fat friendly regimen that is an option for you though again data is limited and there is a wide variation of responses from person to person. Aging, time with HIV, low DC4 nadirs, family genetics and other non-treatment factors can influence fat distribution. The topic of fat biology is getting lots of attention but progress in developing a clear understanding of the cause and better treatments has been frustratingly slow. KH
