i have a frind in the hosp. with brain shingles and hiv+. will he survive? before he was not into aids totally and t-cells are reported up. thanks

The course of herpes zoster encephalitis is quite variable. It can be life threatening and/or result in some permanent brain damage. In general, it can be treated and many/most patients improve/recover.KH
