Response from Dr. Henry
If a patient is taking an effective combination of HIV meds (usually 3 at a time) and not missing any doses they can live for a very long time. I have had patients who are doing well after 10 years of effective therapy with no end in sight. I expect some patients will live 20-30+ years so we have to worry about cancer, liver disease, heart diseae, car accidents, etc now that patient are doing well on treatment. KH | |||||||||
