Also- what's the reason for bad situation of tooth and gums? its getting worst and worst even that i am spending lots of money of visiting my dentist, i am thinking of gettig pregnent son and i am so scared the tooth and gums will get worst and worst and what it is rigt no(have infections all the tims at gums and tooth are breaken, enamel is getting lower and lower). What can be done to prevent agrration at this situation? Please help!!!

Response from Dr. Henry

Gum/tooth problems can be very aggravating is both the general population and perhaps more common/severe in HIV+ persons. Aggressive dental care, antibiotic mouth washes, etc are often needed with generally positive results. Growth hormone or growth hormone releasing factor are under evaluation for increase visceral fat (not effective for fat loss). Use of those compounds is still investigational and would not be recommended in the setting of pregnancy. KH
