What is the Neuropathy Progression?
Sep 24, 2005

I was diagnosed in October 2004 with Peripheral Poly Neuropathy. I do not have diabetes. It seems that I can not find anybody who can tell me the progression. I am having problems with just one of my legs. From the left butt bone down through my ankle. Oh, by the way I also have degenerative arthritus at L4 & L5 and a degenerative disk. It's hard to know what I have to look forward to. My brother was diagnosted in April with ALS and is going fast. I fear that I will be in big trouble in a very short time. Can you give me any information. Thank you and God Bless. Melody

Response from Dr. Henry

Progression rates can vary widely from patient to patient. Since this forum is for the exclusive discussion of side effects related to HIV therapy, information about your HIV status and HIV treatment regimen is needed in order to comment on what impact your HIV meds may have on your neuropathy and what treatment options exist.
