Please tell me, are there people who have it easy with ARVs. I get very depressed when I read everyday how the side effects are making life difficult. Response from Dr. Conway
Treatments are getting simpler, and cna most often be taken once a day. We are also getting much better at using treatments with few if any side effects. The vast majority of my patients on HAART are tolerating it very well. The key is to have a good relationship with your doctor, so that when you start on something and have a side effect, you discuss it and see what the alternatives might be. In this way, I am almost always able to find a regimen for a given person that works and that they can tolerate in the long term. it really doesn't have to be that bad... | |||||||||
