Response from Dr. Henry
Cough in the setting of HIV infection can be due to a wide range of factors. His HIV specialist hopefully is aware of the cough and has evaluated it. Persons with HIV can have a wide range of lung problems which may be related to HIV or other factors (such as smoking, allergies, a cold as you suggest etc). KH
