| Scalp Problems Jun 14, 2005 About three years ago I got folllicutis on my neck. I ahd this cleared up but before it cleared up I think it spread to my scalp. My scalp has been dry an itchy and scabs in certain places. I have been using capex shampoo twice a week along with liquid drops ofclindamycin HCL/Fluocinolone on a daily administered two or three times daily. Howver, after being ojn this treatment for about two years this dry flaking itchy scalp condition keeps flaring up and does not permanently go away. My T cells are 575 and undetectable on Viramune and epzicom. How can I get rid of this stuff? |

Response from Dr. Henry
I assume you have seen an HIV savy dermatologist to try and make a specific diagnosis. Often fungal problems contribute to scalp problems so use of a topical antifungal (such as ketoconazole shampoo) and sometimes a systemic antifungal for 1-2 weeks can be helpful. KH | |||||||||
