Uridine and Molasses

I've read that uridine can potentially, although unproven as of yet, reduce or reverse lipoatrophy and its effects. If this eventually proved to be true, do you think the consumption of molasses, a high source of uridine would help?

The use of uridine (a naturally occurring base or building block of RNA) to treat conditions such as lipoatrophy has been discussed now for over one year. It is thought that by taking large doses of uridine by mouth, one can overcome the block in its metabolism that is caused by some nucleoside analogues, and thus avoid the consequences of fat loss (lipoatrophy) and muscle pains due to lactic acidosis.
Uridine is available as a concentrated nutrional supplement (NucleomaxX) that is clearly absorbed into the body. To date, the use of uridine to prevent or treat complications of nucleoside therapy has not been shown to be effective in clinical trials. Although it is true that molasses (and the parent sugar cane) is a good source of uridine, oen could not eat enough molasses to get as much as you could get from a nutritional supplement. So, if the trials eventually show that this is a good thing, I would go with the supplement rather than molasses, how ever much you like them!!!
