| What else can i try? Mar 22, 2005 Hi , I am 30 years old female. Been tested as hiv+ 10 years ago. i had 3 cells only of cd4 then i started treatment. first it was crixivan wich imm caused hard lypo, my dr change d it due to resistanse to kaletra and after zerit, u ca only imagine what happened to my body a huge dissaster. A year ago i finaly got approvment to viread instead of the zerit and i am also taking videx and stockrin. So far no imporvment ...i know the videx also can cause lypo but at the moment my dr doesn't want to change meds as my cd4 is 800 and vl=0, but i can not continue leave this way, my arms , god!!! at te showlder are so fat and at the elbow are extremly theen, i have a huge belly , veins all out, what can i do about it? i have ressistanse for lots of meds so i can not change now meds. i was thinking of suction surgery but in case i'll do it what the chance fat will be accumulte back to the showlder and belly? PLEASE! I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO. IS THERE ANY HOPE AT THIS SAD STORY? |

From the fat/body body image the story is sad but it is hard for many of us to remember when a person with AIDS and a CD4 count < 10 usually lived less than a year even in the US. Exercise, diet, hormone optimization and yes perhaps a visit to a plastic surgeon may make things tolerable again for you as you continue to live with AIDS which takes incredible courage. Improvements in body fat distribution on more fat friendly meds can take years to notice so patience is important. KH | |||
