I have moderate facial lipodystrohpy and have been looking at possible treatments to give me a little more self esteem as over time I have become more self concious with my sunken facial features.
A local cosmetic surgeon is promoting a product called Aquamid which is a polyacrylamide gel, non absorable, permanent biocompatible, non toxic and does not migrate from the injection site. Not cheap but according to their advertising very effective for the treatment of various facial sagging and filling procedures. Have you heard of this product and what would be your thoughts on it's effectiveness.

I assume you are referring to Bio-Alcamid which to my knowledge has been available mostly at a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico which is quite self-promoting. I have seen little published data regarding its safety and long-term effectiveness so I can't comment any further (see comments in the magazine HIV Plus December 2 issue pp 28-31). KH
