| Gingivitis Nov 29, 2004 Dr Henry Is HIV specific gingivitis (LGE) a feature of late stage HIV infection? With a higher CD4 count would gingivitis be of the more traditional type? |

Response from Dr. Henry
Gum disease can be more severe and more common even in early HIV infection with decent CD4 counts though in my experience gingivitis tends to be more severe in the setting of lower CD4 counts (< 200). KH | |||||||||
