| how long with hiv Nov 17, 2004 I have a friend that has HIV. She has had it for 20 years. she has good days and bad days. How long can a person live with AIDS? Is it 25 years or 30 years? |

There is no single answer to this question. If she is still not needing therapy, she may well live out her natural lifespan without needing therapy, as she has shown herself to have an ability to control HIV on her own. If she is on therapy, it depends if she is still responding to it and what treatment options are still available to her. People who are newly diagnosed with HIV in 2004 may well live out their natural lives, on or off treatment and never die from AIDS... | |||||||||
