Gay and Lesbian Ostomates
Nov 8, 2004
At last years United Ostomy Conferene It was noted that there has been a slight increase in HIV+ individuals having to have colostomies and ileostmiews from severe diahrea. If those people are gay there are many more issues to discuss with their surgeon that would not ordianarly come up in conversation . For example, after you remove my rectum I well never be able to have anal sex" Many times sexuality is never discussed. For your readers and your informtion there is a supportive and educationl website linked from the United Ostomies Association website at www.uoa.org look for the link to GLO, Gay and Lesbian Ostomates, or see www.glo-uoa.org SO many people have thought that they are the only one in this situation and they are not alone. There are alos links to supportive information and message boards. I hope you will post this valuable to link to your readers.
